WelcomeA first class reputation for quality care

Located at Elizabeth Bay adjacent to St Luke's Hospital, Lulworth House is a 154-bed purpose-built aged care facility of the highest standard offering 23 low care and 131 high care places.

Since 1983, when Lulworth House opened as an aged care facility, it has enjoyed a first-class reputation for quality care. It has the special distinction of meeting the quality requirements of both the Commonwealth Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency and the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards to the highest level for the maximum periods over many years and is fully accredited by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency.

While designed to the highest standards to safeguard resident safety and security with discrete monitoring systems, a home-like atmosphere has been maintained by providing cosy, domestic-scale sitting areas and individual dining and recreation rooms. A central garden and leafy outlooks from the resident rooms create a light and airy ambience.

Lulworth House was originally built in 1870 and was once the residence of the distinguished Australian author, the late Patrick White, until purchased by St Luke's in 1938. Centred on a tranquil, landscaped courtyard that is loved by residents, the building is heritage listed and retains its original facade. Fully refurbished, extended and adapted for aged care, it retains a feeling of real character with a homely atmosphere
